Internal data from Lands of America lists almost $5 billion in land and rural real estate for sale in the Independence State. The combined size of land for sale in Pennsylvania is 201,983 acres. Of the 67 counties in the state,
Monroe County had the most land and acreage for sale. There were 1,160 acres of sold land in Pennsylvania recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. The most land sales in the state last month were recorded in Columbia County. Outdoor journal Seneca Creek recently pegged Pennsylvania as one of the country's "Top 3 Fly-fishing States," and it's hard to disagree with this assessment. Species including trout, steelhead, and panfish swim in more than 85,000 miles of streams and rivers, along with 4,000 inland lakes and ponds. The state is home to 480 species of wild birds and wild mammals, many of which can be hunted on almost 1.5 million acres of state game lands. In terms of its size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). In total, 44,743 square miles of the state is land, while the remaining 1,312 square miles comprises water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Pennsylvania include turkey, whitetail deer, bear, grouse, ducks, pheasant, geese, and dove. Fishermen can enjoy casting for bass, catfish, trout, walleye, pike, and salmon.
